A message based AI mate for campus life

UNSW Ping is a message-based AI agent that helps students discover UNSW societies and events based on their interests. Students text a dedicated number to get personalised society recommendations, find upcoming events (with general queries as well), and optionally add events to their calendar or receive reminders. It uses retrieval (RAG) to answer questions with grounded event data, plus automated reminders driven by event times. Built end-to-end as a full-stack project, including scraping, database + embeddings, agent tooling, and deployment on Amazon Web Services.
